About

Growing up I was constantly inspired and recreating the media I saw from comics to movies and cartoons and games. The idea that a person or group of people could work to create something so compelling and visually interesting struck me, and led me to a passion of creating visual works that tell stories. Some key inspirations are Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Ken Kurojiro, and Syd Mead. Currently I am a contracted concept artist and character designer for the toy company Youtooz, having designed collectable figures for properties like Adventure Time, Spongebob Squarepants, Despicable Me, Five Nights at Freddy’s, and more.

Most of my work explores storytelling and world building through imaginative illustrations and designs that make the viewer an active participant. From engaging with comics and playing games, the work I create makes the audience participate in fun ways to explore and become part of the world I’ve created. My work calls upon and references popular culture IPs and designs in a retrofitted and personal way that creates something new and engaging.

My traditional pastel works explore themes of environmentalism and the pollution impacting our planet through landscapes. Envisioned by apocalyptic-like worlds of a possible future, polluted symbols of urbanization and industry are being overtaken or blown away by the natural powers of the Earth in an attempt to take back the land, but the harm caused still remains. Inspired by popular culture environments and concept work, I create warnings of the future with vibrant colors, contrast, and balance to emphasize emotion.
